Stage: questions

Questions

What owners ask before the photographer comes.

What Laura does, and does not

Does Laura take bookings or talk to my guests?

No. Styling and set-up only: Laura never takes bookings, messages guests or handles guests' money.

Will staging help my let earn more, or my home sell faster?

Laura makes no promise about sales or nightly rates. What she does is set up and style a home or a let for its photographs, its viewings and its guests.

What about fire safety?

On a Guest-Ready Set-Up, upholstered pieces are chosen only from items that carry the permanent fire-safety label, and each label is photographed for the owner's records. Laura doesn't carry out or sign off fire, gas or electrical safety checks.

What you pay for

Who buys the furniture, linen and flowers?

The owner buys furniture, linen, flowers, printing and the photographer at the shop's price. On a Guest-Ready Set-Up the sourcing list is written to the owner's budget, and the owner buys direct from the shops.

What is the smallest first step?

A Photo Brief, £45: a 30-minute video walk-round, a shot list of up to 20 photos in order, a room-by-room styling checklist.

How does travel work?

Travel is explained beside the prices once Laura sets it.

The work

Can Laura work with my photographer?

Yes. Shoot Day Styling, £195, is the Photo Brief, then up to 4 hours on site on the photographer's day. The photographer is yours to book and pay.

Can you style a home that is empty?

Yes, with pieces the owner has bought, as a Bigger Set-Up: £325 a day, written quote first. It also covers bigger lets and several lets.

What goes in a welcome book?

Arrival and keys, wifi, heating and appliances, bins, house rules, what to do in an emergency from the facts the owner supplies, checkout, and local picks from the owner's answers: up to 12 pages, print-ready and phone-friendly. See the welcome book.

Should I clear the house first?

If a room needs sorting before it can be styled, Laura's Declutter site covers one room or a whole home.

Booking

Can I change my mind after booking?

You have 14 days to change your mind after booking. See How booking works for how to cancel, and what happens if you ask for work to start inside the 14 days.

Is there an app if I would rather do it myself?

Laura's app for this is LT: Welcome Mat, made for a welcome book your guests will actually read; ask Laura about it.
